How Many Bloggers Approach Their Blog Like Friendship Pages?

Why Do Bloggers Blog?
There are thousands upon thousands of people posting information onto their blogs every day.  Sending out thoughts they have generated and feel most compelled to share.  Every person who types their thoughts has a desire to reach as many people as they can to hear what they have to say.  Blogging is the medium they have chosen to do this work.  It is work.  It is also fun work.

Given these truths, why does a blogger do what they do?  Are they motivated by recognition?  Are they motivated by income potential?  What is the source of their motivation?

Blogging Is Fun Work.
I am not certain that most of those who post information onto their blog know exactly why they add each post when they do.  I suspect many post information as a reaction to some deeper sense of motivation, unknown even to themselves, rather than the surface one they may describe when asked.  In case you have not noticed yet, humans have a great ability to operate with two sources of motivation in almost everything they do.  One source is the one they would like for you to hear...the other source of motivation is the deeper truth that often gets disguised from everybody's view.  I am more interested in the second source.  It is more likely the deeper source of motivation that will in the end determine how someone will react.  When I offer help to business owners, I like better reactions.  The best reactions build the best businesses.  I actually do not build any businesses...they do.  It is in their reactions that form the successes.

I have spent a long time in my life offering assistance to many people, hundreds upon hundreds, who have a desire to operate some format of a business.  It has been my distinct observation in almost all of those efforts the people I work with present their motives differently than the true one operating as if disguised deep inside their sole.  Why should I suspect anyone who blogs to be different?  We are not.  Every one of us has a protective coat of shielding placed over our deeper motives for the reasons we do what we do.  What's more, most of us do not even recognize the shield we develop.  We cannot even admit to the process because we do not recognize when we are performing the task.
Building A Successful Business Is Like Working On Therapy
When asked why a blog is posted, most will answer with a surface reason for doing so.  However, deeper sources of the true motivation can find its way to the surface when the person who blogs accepts the unknown field of consequences that may occur if the truth were to be revealed.  Once the fear is removed, the truth will surface.

Recently, a blogger told me they just like to share information with others out there.  The more we spent on chatting about life and many other subjects...the direction of her reasons for blogging became more economically motivated.  She began asking questions as to how to attract more revenues from her blog.  I am not an expert on the subject of generating revenues from blogging but recognized two distinct reasons she described for posting on her blog.  The first reason was the one she wanted me to hear.  The second reason was the truth.  She only revealed the truth as her trust level was lifted in the process of our conversation.  The truth was revealed when the threat for exposing it was removed.  It was at that point we could have a healthy exchange in thoughts.  She could now actually begin the work on building her blog to become a successful business.  Up until then, all the work she would 'pretend' to do would be tainted enough to divert her from having success in her 'business' of blogging.  The two are quite a bit different in design.  Treating each motivation incorrectly would only allow incorrect assumptions and conclusion come into play that would eventually fail to offer proper choices and opportunities to perform the correct success.  I hate it when that happens.  It is so difficult to get into the truth to allow success to begin its work.  I hate it when that happens.  However, it is the truth.

If you are struggling with success in your blog, in your business, in your relationships, whatever...you need to find a way to strip down the deceptive 'feel good' motives.  Those motives are protecting you now but will hinder your process to succeed.  Somehow you need to peel off the outer shell of protection you often times cannot see and get down deeper into the real reasons why you do what you do.  It is with those motivations that you can uncover so they can be revealed to become better sources for helping you to develop methods of success.  This is true in blogging, business building, relationship developments and likely all other walks of life that we experience.  Get to the truth.  Get closer to the true motivations for doing what you want to do.  Getting there will be a stronger source for allowing you to make it happen easier.
Where Is Your Villain?

Go to the earlier post on this blog, "Who is the Villain."  Make sure when you examine that particular post you bring along a mirror.  It will come in handy.  I keep mine in my back pocket.  I am not completely convinced it is about building a friendship page.  I think that is a long stretch.

Until next time...let's work on successful efforts.  They produce better results.  I think that is really what all of you are truly looking to do.

Why do we feel we need to add another deep comment?  We seem compelled to do post scripts, P.S., don't we.

Again...until next time....
